About Me

Eric Goldring, owner of Goldring Travel, is one of the most respected names in luxury and expedition travel. He has earned that reputation through rigorous, firsthand evaluation of cruise, expedition, and tour operators—personally sailing, exploring, and then candidly sharing his insights through hundreds of Making Waves articles and contributions to Travel + Leisure and leading industry publications. He also holds the Elite Cruise Counselor and Luxury Cruise Specialist designations from CLIA.

Eric doesn’t count countries (but if you need to know, it’s over 110 countries) because, no matter where you have visited, there are always more things that you haven’t seen than you have. While Eric hasn’t experienced it all, he has enjoyed numerous expeditions to the Antarctic and Arctic, Amazonian journeys, African safaris, Patagonian treks, and culinary and cultural immersions in diverse places such as Japan, China, Iceland, Argentina, Costa Rica, Italy, Turkey, and Greece. His depth of travel gives him an unmatched perspective in creating experiences for you that are both focused on “your luxury” and deeply personal.

What truly sets Eric apart is his unique blend of science, law, and superyacht expertise. With 40+ years in the superyacht industry (management, chartering, building, refitting), an honors degree in Biology (Union College, NY), work as a biological aide at NOAA’s National Marine Fisheries Service, a law degree in Ocean & Coastal/Admiralty Law (University of Miami), and Memberships in the International Superyacht Society, Sigma Xi, American Fisheries Society, Society of Naval Architects & Marine Engineers, and multiple state bar associations.
