Yodl is a members-only directory for expert travel advisors to promote the experiences, knowledge, skills, and traits that make them successful travel planners for their clients. Yodl exists to host personalized travel advisor profiles and to provide a platform for advisors to create expert-led content.
No, Yodl is not a host agency. Nor is it a consortium, travel board, or travel agency. We are an independent members-only directory tailored specifically for travel advisors.
No, we are proudly independent. Yodl is not affiliated, obligated, or subject to any particular supplier or product. Our member advisors may belong to agencies or organizations that do have affiliations with preferred supplier partners, but Yodl remains agnostic of supplier and product affiliation.
For a fee, Yodl allows travel advisors to build and host their personal advisor profile on yodl.travel. Yodl also provides a platform and resources for advisors to create content to demonstrate their travel-related experience, expertise, authority, and trustworthiness. There is no employer-employee or contractor relationship between Yodl and its member advisors.
Of the many reasons to join Yodl, the most frequently cited are new lead generation, client relationship building, content writing support, and access to a custom profile (decoupled from any specific travel agency), along with the ability to collect personal reviews, highlight valuable expertise, and share your personality with potential clients.
Yes, but Yodl is best suited for travel advisors with verifiable travel planning experience who are willing to invest in building and sharing their travel knowledge. To oversimplify, experience is measured in years, and expertise is measured in content production, so an advisor with neither might struggle to compete against other Yodl advisors. However, there are no restrictions for member advisors based on their existing relationships and/or affiliations with any agency, travel networks, or consortia.
Interested travel advisors should apply to join Yodl here. Memberships for our initial Founding Members are free for life, but only for a limited time. After reviewing your application, Yodl’s editorial team will guide you through building your profile. Please allow 2-3 business days for your finished profile to be live on Yodl (pending timely receipt of all advisor-supplied profile content).
Nothing! Yodl memberships are FREE for Founding Members, which includes your initial profile setup, ongoing profile maintenance, qualified leads, optional content requests (with briefs), and content publication.
Each Yodl advisor profile includes prominent calls-to-action and a contact form to distribute leads directly to your provided email address. You may also choose to display your contact information on your profile, in which case you could receive direct calls and emails.
All profile updates, corrections, and change requests should be submitted via your dedicated Yodl Profile Management page (provided upon account activation), or by email to support@yodl.travel. Pending required clarification and the extent of the change, updates are typically live within 2-3 business days.
You get to choose! With Yodl, you have the flexibility to build your advisor profile based on your expertise as well as your passions. For example, you don’t have to highlight your expertise for a product you no longer wish to sell. If you love working with one supplier more than another, use this flexibility to highlight the experiences and expertise that is most important to you.
Yodl advisors must demonstrate their expertise in order to claim it on their advisor profile. Expertise is demonstrated (i.e., built or earned) by creating expert-led content for Yodl’s Expert Insights (e.g., inspirational travel content, travel guides, and reviews). All published content is reviewed and published by Yodl on the travel advisor’s behalf, with the travel advisor receiving full authorship credit. Before publishing, advisors are informed of the categories of expertise being earned. For example, an advisor’s article about cruising to Alaska could earn the advisor Expertise in “Alaska” and “Cruises.”
Yes. In fact, all of our travel advisors are strongly encouraged to write for Yodl’s Expert Insights based on their firsthand experiences and expertise, ideally bringing their unique personalities to each piece.
As often as you’d like! Continually publishing new content helps you demonstrate expertise and increase your discoverability, while also improving your value as a travel advisor. Additionally, creating fresh content keeps your profile atop Yodl’s relevant category pages. For instance, your newly published article about honeymooning in Tahiti could immediately receive prominent placement on multiple category pages, including ‘South Pacific & Tahiti’, ‘Island Vacations’, ‘Honeymoon Travel’, ‘Romantic Getaways’, and more!
This is one of the biggest benefits of joining Yodl. All article content is first reviewed by Yodl, with suggested revisions sent to the advisor author for approval. Pending approval, your content is published to yodl.travel while you receive full authorship credit. Our suggested edits may include grammatical changes, formatting revisions, search engine optimization (SEO), contextual insights, source clarification, and more.
It depends. If you are still planning travel, submit your change request to support@yodl.travel to have all relevant fields (e.g., contact info) updated to reflect your new position. If you’re no longer a travel advisor, we recommend deactivating your profile.
Yes. To change your profile status, including deactivating or deleting your advisor profile, please submit your request to support@yodl.travel.
